This series of works arises from the observation and analysis of the provisional architecture made with awnings, this architecture is characterized by being austere, flexible, and removable. In these weak structures, I have been able to identify survival strategies used by informal trade workers, and spaces of resistance such as political protests, sit-ins, strikes, and marches. The shade offered by a canopy provides a living space that defies the conventions of public and private use of space.

In this series, I "suspend" the functional character of the awning by removing a circle from its center. The hole allows light to draw the path of the sun around the structure, installing a celestial day in a work context. Like a sundial, this series of pieces invites us to return to nature as a criterion for measuring human activities without losing sight of their political implications.
