Chasen Thajni is a collective entity, created in 2019 on the initiative of the artist Ulises Matamoros Ascención, and is currently integrated by members of its Ngiba community, and by external collaborators.
In 2019, the artist, together with various inhabitants of Ahuatempan, built an open community space inspired by traditional Ngiba architecture, thus arises Chasen Thajni; first as a collaborative architecture that appropriates a public space: then as a popular procession that has the task of restoring the voice, the word and the presence ngiba, presence silenced under sediments of ethnic-racial violence, religious, linguistic and war.
A device captures the sound of community assemblies held in "Chasen Thajni: The House of All". A simple loudspeaker transmits this sound directly to the museum. This sound -in the museum- is turned off or activated, about the voice or silence of the community that transmits its voice from the Sierra Mixteca.
